COUNTY LEGISLATURE - Tuesday, September 2nd, Legislative Chambers, 8:00 PM. Tentative agenda includes public hearing on a proposed consumer protection law submitted by Ed that would establish clarity about your rights as a purchaser of gasoline.

PEP RALLY - Saturday, September 6th, Rockland County Courhouse Lawn, 11 AM to 2 PM. Third annual event held by the New City Football Rams organization where Ed is a long time coach. Food, music, fun and games are on tap. No admission charges; Come down and enjoy. POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER - NEW DATE TBA)

ITALIAN FESTIVAL - Sunday, September 14th, 11am to 7pm
Congers Station Park, Congers-Lake Road by the rail crossing. ROCKLAND COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER'S PARADE - Saturday, October 18th, Main Street, Suffern. Sponsored by the Suffern Volunteer Fire Department, the parade, rescheduled form last month, is set to kickoff at Noon.

CONGERS FALL CONCERT - Sunday, October 19th, 2PM - 3:30 PM, Congers Station Park (rain location - Clarkstown South HS auditorium), Congers. Beatles Tribute Band Ob-la-Di, Bla-Da performs. Sponsored by the Town of Clarkstown Parks and Recreation. Info @ 639-6200.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS - Wednesday, October 29th, 6:30 PM, at the West Nyack Hamlet Green, West Nyack Road opposite the Post Office. KRISTALLNACHT - Sunday, November 9th, County Courthouse Lawn, New City, 5 PM. Come join your neighbors of all faiths in the commemoration of 70th anniversary of "the night of broken glass"  

VETERAN'S DAY - Tuesday, November 11th. Find a vet and simply say "Thank you". Local commemoration on the County Courthouse Lawn, New City, 11 AM.

LIVE AUCTION - Saturday, November 15th, New City Firehouse, 15 Maple Avenue, New City, 7:00 PM. Sponsored by the New City Fire Department to support our volunteer firefighters efforts to protect our families. Fine art, sports and music memorabilia, and more. GRAD NIGHT - Wednesday, November 19th, Rocco's Family Restaurant, Clarkstown Plaza Shopping Center, South Main Street, New City. In support of the Senior class of Clarkstown North High School. Write your name and the amount of your purchase on the list next to the pizza counter register, and Rocco will donate a percentage of those purchases towards North’s Grad Nite.

NAVAL ACADEMY VISIT - Sunday November 23rd, New City Library, Squadron Blvd., New City, 1:00 PM. Local midshipman Nick Rausa will conduct an informational briefing on USNA admissions and presentation about the opportunities at the Naval Academy.

DECEMBER

COUNTY LEGISLATURE - Tuesday, December 16th, Legislative Chambers, 8:00 PM. Tentative agenda includes a public hearing for the Congers Road reconstruction project and Public Hearing on a Local Law, prohibiting the text messaging while operating a motor vehicle in Rockland. 

HAPPY HANUKKAH - Monday, December 22nd begins the eight day long "Festival of Lights" for many of our neighbors.

MERRY CHRISTMAS - Thursday, December 25th marks the day many of our neighbors celebrate the birth of their Lord and peace on earth; goodwill towards man.
